Dance As Fire

BACHATA

– CARIBBEAN STYLE –

The Bachata has origin in the Dominican Republic campaigns. This dance is a direct reflection of the music that was played in dance clubs during the ’60s. Bachata has close ties with the Cuban Bolero.

MOVEMENT CHARACTERISTIC

Bachata has basic and very simple movements with regard to the work of the feet and legs, which move side to side or forward and backward. The romantic character of Bachata is obtained from the sensual movement of the hips and sinuous body actions. A good use of the knees helps to obtain the desired hip movement.

MUSICAL TIME

It is played in 4/4 time. It is rather slow, about 120 beats per minute. It usually tells stories of melancholy love, and it is the most romantic kind of guitar music of this century.
