The Bolero is a romantic dance, the slowest of the Latin dances, it has the same Afro Cuban roots as the rumba, having originated from dances of the Cuban and Spanish folk tradition such as the Beguine and the Danzon.
Characterized by wide and lateral movements in which the difference between lowering and elevation is highlighted, creating a soft movement.
The music is written in 4/4 and the tempo is slower than the rumba, it certainly recalls the Latin ballad creating, when listening, a romantic and dramatic aspect.
